In His Clothes editorial got published!

THE REASON WHY I have been absent for so long is that f-i-n-a-l-l-y I am on vacation! It all happened in a hurry hence the silence, but as soon as I got internet I had to share this with you: the fashion editorial “In His Clothes” that I showed you a while ago (here, here, here and here) made it to the press and has just been published on Magnética magazine. A RAZÃO PELA QUAL tenho estado em silêncio é que f-i-n-a-l-m-e-n-t-e estou de férias! Tudo se resolveu a correr, daí o silêncio, mas assim que consegui internet vim a correr partilhar convosco: o editorial de moda “In His Clothes” que vos mostrei há uns tempos (aqui, aqui, aqui and aqui) foi publicado na revista Magnética. Whaam! Lindsey Wixson for Garage Magazine

WHENEVER I SEE stuff like this my will to take the styling thing pretty seriously gets reassured. Whaam! is a fashion production featuring Lindsey Wixson’s disturbing beauty for Garage Magazine, photographed by Nick Knight and styled by Katy England, reinterpreting american pop artist Roy Lichtenstein‘s comic book language, which I love. I wonder what will be more fascinating: the eleven hours of shooting on film (right after you click Read More) or the actual result, still to be revealed.
I’ll be waiting to build an opinion on that.

QUANDO VEJO ideias assim confirmo a certeza de que quero levar esta coisa do styling muito a sério. Whaam! é uma produção com a beleza inquietante da Lindsey Wixson para a Garage Magazine, fotografada por Nick Knight (sim, o mesmo que fotografou aquela campanha polémica “Portugal – Europe’s West Coast” em 2007) e styling da Katy England, inspirada na linguagem de BD do artista pop americano Roy Lichtenstein, que eu adoro. Não sei o que será mais fascinante, se as onze horas da sessão em filme (depois de clicarem Read More) ou o resultado final, ainda por revelar.
Vou esperar para decidir.

I’VE RECENTLY COME ACROSS these treasures: two lingerie catalogues from the 70′s that couldn’t be more different. One is a 1976 Bloomingdale’s insert of The New York Times photographed by the great Guy Bourdin, the other is a 1979 Victoria’s Secret catalogue that totally blows away Bourdain’s fresh approach much like bad erotica playing cards would.

ENCONTREI ESTES TESOUROS recentemente: dois catálogos de lingerie dos anos 70 que não podiam ser mais diferentes. Um é um encarte da Bloomingdale’s no The New York Times de 1976, fotografado pelo enorme Guy Bourdin, o outro um catálogo Victoria’s Secret que deita por terra a abordagem de Bourdain numa estética parecida com a daqueles baralhos de cartas eróticas antigos.
