HEY! VACATION’S OFICIALLY over, and we’re back on business. HEY! AS FÉRIAS estão oficialmente terminadas e por aqui é tempo de voltar ao activo. Look who’s back: The Sweatshirt

I’VE ALWAYS LOVED SWEATSHIRTS. They’re warm, soft and comfy like (I dare say) no other piece of clothing, but I’ve always seen them as a sports item, or weekends, eventually a good option for those very, very, very lazy work days (thankful for having a Job that allows me to wear whatever I want). But this year history goes on and the fashion designers of the world decided to write a new chapter on the item, reinterpreting the classic 100 year old sweatshirt and giving it the leading role. I’m delighted.

SEMPRE GOSTEI DE SWEATSHIRTS. São quentinhas, fofinhas e confortáveis como (ouso dizer) nenhuma outra peça de roupa, mas sempre as vi como uma peça de desporto, fins-de-semana e dias de trabalho muito, muito preguiçosos (grata por ter escolhido uma profissão que me deixa vestir o que quero e bem me apetece). Mas este ano a história continua e os costureiros do mundo decidiram acrescentar-lhe um novo capítulo, reinterpretar a velhinha sweatshirt com mais de 100 anos e dar-lhe o destaque merecido. Eu, estou encantada.

Leather Bags by CORIUMI

CORIUMI makes beautiful leather bags. They’re screen printed. They’re from Lithuania. They’re different from what I’ve seen. That’s prety much what I know about them. Just found their Etsy store and would love to have one of these beauties. Read More to see some more. :)

ONE MORE! After “Olívia“, Bainha de Copas has just released another super cute dress – “Snow White” – a 60% bleached top partnered with a 40% colour pop bottom of your choosing. The first colour combos are 50% mine and 50% Bainha’s, as you may have read here! As if this wasn’t enough, there’s also the all new “Abraçadores” (Huggers!) by O Meu Monstrinho, irresistible pillow-friends to wrap your arms around anytime you need. Quer seja mais olhos de gato anos 40 ou gigantes dos anos 60, preto discreto ou cores neon vibrantes, lentes dramáticas com gradiente ou as lisas normalíssimas, é garantido que há uns à sua medida por aí. Anna Dello Russo X H&M

FRESH NEWS: Vogue Nippon‘s Fashion Director & Über fashion victim Anna Dello Russo will launch a line of accessories for H&M that will hit selected stores this October. There’s not much to say yet, since the Swedish retailer has only released this picture and a video of ADR walking around her several-rooms-closet talking more about her more than the actual collab. Despite that, It is worth seeing, if not for the clear presentation of the pieces she designed at least for Miss Dello Russo’s intense character and extravaganza, which is always quite entertaining.

NOTÍCIAS FRESCAS: A Directora de Moda da Vogue Japão & Über fashion victim Anna Dello Russo vai lançar uma linha de acessórios para a H&M que chegará às lojas em Outubro. Ainda não há muito para dizer, já que o gigante Sueco divulgou apenas uma foto-teaser e um video da ADR a deambular pelo seu closet multi-divisões enquanto fala mais de si do que da parceria. Apesar disso, mesmo não sendo pela clareza de apresentação das peças que desenhou. vale a pena ver o video pela personalidade intensa e extravagante da senhora Dello Russo, que é sempre bom entretenimento.

Proenza Schouler – Camera Case

I AM USUALLY a great fan of Proenza Schouler’s collections, but actually this last one – Spring 2012 – didn’t blow me away. There was something that blew me away, though: their vintage-inspired leather Camera Case. Ain’t that a beauty? I wouldn’t know which color to choose (if only it wasn’t sold out! Ahah.) but I guess I’d go for the orange one that reminds me of those original oldies my father had. Now, even if the impossible happened – me getting my hands on this baby -  I’d still be lacking one thing: that’s right, the camera. Sniff.

COSTUMO SER grande apreciadora das colecções Proenza Schouler, mas a verdade é que esta última Primavera 2012 não me deixou muito impressionada. Houve, no entanto, uma peça do desfile que me maravilhou: a bolsa de pele para câmara fotográfica de inspiração vintage. Não é absolutamente maravilhosa? Não sei qual das cores escolheria (se ao menos não estivesse esgotada! Ahah.) mas talvez optasse pela cor-de-laranja que me faz lembrar as velhinhas originais que o meu pai tinha. O problema é que, mesmo que o impossível acontecesse – eu meter as mãos nesta beleza – continuaria a faltar-me uma coisa: exacto, a câmara. Sniff.

Giorgio Armani – Ready-to-Wear Fall 2012

I’VE ALWAYS BEEN a huge admirer of Giorgio Armani’s work, but this time he really got me dreaming about these bold colours from his Ready-to-Wear Fall 2012 show. Gorgeous, Mr. Armani. Absolutely gorgeous.

SEMPRE FUI uma grande admiradora do trabalho de Giorgio Armani mas desta vez deixou-me mesmo a sonhar com estas cores vibrantes da colecção Pronto-a-Vestir Outono 2012. Maravilhoso, Sr. Armani. Absolutamente maravilhoso.

Vuitton/Hackermann Corset Belt

Is it me or the belt on the right, presented on Haider Ackermann Fall 2012 show this week, is extremely similar to one of the most iconic pieces of the season, on the left, from Louis Vuitton Fall 2011? (I loved Haider Ackermann’s show. Just felt this to be a bit awkward.)

É impressão minha ou o cinto da direita, apresentado no desfile de Haider Ackermann Outono 2012 esta semana é extremamente parecido com o da esquerda, uma das peças mais icónicas da estação, da colecção Louis Vuitton Outono 2011? (Adorei a colecção H. Ackermann. Só achei este pormenor algo estranho.)

TOPSHOP x Mary Katrantzou

HOUSTON, WE HAVE A PROBLEM. Topshop just announced their last Designer collaboration and it is nothing less than the Greek born, London based Mary Katrantzou! I’ve been an admirer of her work since she won the Emerging Talent Ready-to-Wear Award at the British Fashion Awards 2011 and I got to know her stuff. Before and since then this girl has been featured in every fashion magazine, website and blog worth seeing, and now, I just have to figure out a plan to resist temptation. Glup. I’m sure she isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but there’s just something about the victorian/chinese porcelain mix that makes it mine.

HOUSTON, WE HAVE A PROBLEM. A Topshop acabou de anunciar a sua última colaboração: nada mais nada menos que a designer grega sediada em Londres, Mary Katrantzou! Tenho seguido os passos da Miss Katrantzou desde que ganhou o prémio de Emerging Talent Ready-to-Wear Award nos British Fashion Awards 2011, altura em que conheci o trabalho dela, e agora resta-me engendrar um plano para resistir à tentação. No último ano, esta miúda apareceu em todas as revistas, sites e blogs de referência e agora está à distância de um clique e alguns euros. Ai. Tenho a certeza de que a minha opinião não é partilhada por todos, mas há qualquer coisa no mix de era Vitoriana com porcelana chinesa que me fascina profundamente.

PRINTS ARE COMING in MASSIVE quantities this season (well, next season actually) and that is really great news since I just love prints. Here are some of my favorites so far, on two-legged-bottoms! (Those Levi’s 501 are smiling at me since forever, but now that I’m completely hooked on boyfriend jeans, they’re SO irresistible!)

O ESTAMPADOS estão a caminho em quantidades GIGANTES, nesta estação (ou a próxima, mais precisamente) e isso é uma óptima notícia para mim que adoro estampados. Aqui estão alguns dos meus favoritos até agora, em calças. (Aquelas Levi’s 501 estão-se a rir para mim há muito tempo, mas agora que estou completamente viciada em “boyfriend jeans” estão mesmo irresistíveis!)

Dressing for the Globes – My humble opinion

FIRST THINGS FIRST: Charlize was per-fect. Oh my God, I want to be her. She pulled off a really hard colour and decided to show us just one of those fabulous legs in a magnificent asymmetrical gown. Although she came empty handed in Globes, fashion-wise she won it, that's for sure. // PRIMEIRO LUGAR indiscutível para a Charlize. Não há palavras. Quero ser ela. Conseguiu fazer com que uma cor difícil funcionasse na perfeição ao decidir mostrar-nos apenas uma das suas pernas fabulosas num vestido assimétrico lindo de morrer. Apesar de ter saído de mãos vazias no que respeita a Globos, o Globo da melhor vestida é claramente seu.

THIS WOULDN'T WORK on nobody else. That's why she is so great. Her hair and skin tone make this silvery blue almost magical. She looks like a very, very stylish fairy. By the way, did you notice the perfect movement towards the left of hair, coat and skirt? // ISTO NÃO RESULTARIA EM NINGUÉM excepto ela. Só isso faz com que mereça o prémio. O tom de cabelo e de pele fazem com que este azul pareça mágico e ela uma fada cheia de estilo. Por falar em magia, repararam no movimento perfeito para a esquerda do cabelo, lapela e cauda?

CLASSY, FLAWLESS, NATALIE. Besides that, fuchsia and red are one of my favourite combinations ever. // CHEIA DE CLASSE, IRREPREENSÍVEL, NATALIE. Se não bastasse, fúcsia e vermelho são uma das minhas combinações favoritas.

SHE LOOKS SO CONFIDENT and the whole outfit is so simple yet so perfect. Please, give me that skin tone! // PARECE TÃO CONFIANTE e todo o conjunto é simultaneamente simples e perfeito. Eu quero aquele tom de pele!

THESE GUYS SHOULD have known better. I am a huge defender of the Pitt/Jolie couple, but come on, Angelina has showed us some magnificent outfits throughout the last couple of years and now it seems she went back to the old "Adams Family" looks. She looks gorgeous anyway, but I was expecting so much more. Nicole looks like her statue in "Madame Tussaud's" and Heidi, honey, you *are* beautiful, but there comes a time when a woman can't expect to look good without a bra. In this case, less was less. // ESTAS SENHORAS TINHAM a obrigação de surpreender. Eu sou uma grande defensora do casal Pitt/Jolie mas depois anos a mostrar-nos looks fora de série, parece que a Angelina voltou à época "Família Adams". Ela fica lindíssima de qualquer forma, mas eu esperava mais. A Nicole parece a sua estátua no "Madame Tussaud's" e Heidi, querida, tu *és* maravilhosa, mas chega uma altura na vida de uma mulher em que não é possível ter bom aspecto sem soutien. Neste caso, menos foi menos.

ABOUT THESE: The Wizard of Oz, looks like a Middle Ages chain mail, totally inappropriate and scary. // QUANTO A ESTES: Feiticeiro de Oz, parece a cota de malha dos templários, completa e totalmente desapropriado e simplesmente assustador.
